My June Herbal Wellness Routine: Preparing for a Vibrant Summer
June is one of the busiest and most rewarding months here at Blessed Harvest Farm. The gardens are bursting with growth, herbs are ready for harvest, pollinators are everywhere, and the long days seem to stretch from sunrise to sunset.
Between tending the garden, caring for the farm, creating herbal products, and preparing for all the activities that summer brings, I become even more intentional about the herbs I choose to support my body.
Rather than waiting until I feel run down, I like to build a foundation of support before the busiest part of summer arrives. This month, four tinctures have earned a permanent place on my kitchen counter: Schisandra, Damiana, Elderflower, and our Heart Blend. Together, they help support energy, resilience, cardiovascular wellness, and seasonal vitality.
On especially busy days, I may also reach for our Brain Boost tincture for additional mental clarity and focus.
Why June Calls for a Different Herbal Routine
Summer asks a lot from us.
We're spending more time outdoors, working in the heat, staying active longer, attending gatherings, traveling, and trying to keep up with gardens, families, and full schedules. While I love this season, I know from experience that it's easy to overextend ourselves if we're not intentional about supporting our bodies.
That's why my June herbal routine focuses on:
-
Adaptation and resilience
-
Sustained energy
-
Positive mood and motivation
-
Seasonal wellness support
-
Cardiovascular health
These herbs help me feel prepared for everything summer has to offer.
Schisandra: My Foundation for Summer Resilience
Schisandra berry is often called the "five-flavor fruit" because it contains all five tastes: sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and pungent. It has been treasured for centuries as one of the premier adaptogenic herbs.
As the days grow hotter and the workload increases, Schisandra helps support the body's ability to adapt to physical and mental stress.

Damiana: Supporting Mood, Motivation, and Joy
One of the things I love about Damiana is the way it supports a sense of well-being. Summer should be enjoyed, not just endured.
Damiana has traditionally been used as a tonic herb to support mood, vitality, and a healthy outlook. During busy seasons, it's easy to become focused only on the work that needs to be done. Damiana reminds me to enjoy the process.

Welcoming Summer with Intention
One of the things I love most about herbalism is learning to work with the seasons rather than against them.
Summer is a season of abundance, growth, movement, and opportunity. By supporting my body with herbs that nourish resilience, cardiovascular wellness, mental clarity, and overall vitality, I'm able to enjoy this season more fully.
As I walk through the gardens each morning, harvesting herbs that will eventually become tinctures, teas, and wellness products for others, I'm reminded that wellness often begins with simple daily choices.
These are the herbs supporting me this June as I prepare for a healthy, productive, and joy-filled summer.
What herbs are helping you thrive this season?
With love,
Angel
